At-Home Residential Habilitation

HASC Center’s At-Home Residential Habilitation transforms the individual’s unstructured time at home into a postiive, educational and productive experience.

HASC Center provides a much welcome and needed service to families right in their own home. HASC Center’s At-Home Res Hab program has been offering supplemental support and assistance to children and adults with developmental and intellectual challenges and their families for over four decades.

The individual with developmental and intellectual challenges and their at-home trainer work one-on-one on specific skills both in the individual’s home and in the community. These life skills may include social interaction, recreational involvement and activities of daily living. Together, they choose, plan and implement an activity of interest to the individual such as playing a game, working on a crafts project, purchasing food at the neighborhood grocery store, preparing a meal together or attending a music event in their community. These one-on-one interactions are all educational opportunities that can be carried to other areas of the individual’s life.

HASC Center’s Res Hab Supervisor and Service Coordinator design a program to meet identified needs together with the individual and the family. This program is modified as the individual’s needs change. Our professional supervisors educate and coach the at-home trainers so that they can work effectively to assist in achieving the established goals and deal with challenging behaviors with a warm and caring approach.

At HASC Center, we understand that the time of day and the number of days each week that this service will be provided is dependent on many factors. We employ those factors that work best for people who are receiving this service. Our dedicated staff is presently providing this service in the afternoons and evenings as well as on weekends when required.

This program is customized to suit the needs of the individuals and their families.
